Europeanization impact on multi-level governance in Portugal: patterns of adaption and learning (1988-1999)

Abstract:
The present publication concerns the impact of the Portuguese Europeanization process on the implementation of multi-level governance in the field of regional and environmental policies from 1988 to 1999. The focus of this evaluation is based on patterns of adaptation and learning with regard to legislation, public institutions and relevant non-governmental actors. In particular, the evaluation of the learning process was carried out using Social Network Analysis methodology in two study cases, namely for the region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
